Different Version (Information provided by IMO)

There are a total of 3 different versions of AC GRADIUS II ever released. This is because some people can do infinite play with the old version by getting more than 70,000 PTS by each life. In the old version, players can get a lot of PTS at the Jumping Moai (before the Big Moai boss) and at the Big Moai boss. The main changes in the different versions are the extend bonus setting. In Japanese rumor, the 1st and 2nd version bords are fewer than the 3rd (latest) version.

1st version: 1st 20,000 PTS Every 70,000 PTS (Have score at Jumping Moai)
2nd version: 1st 20,000 PTS Every 70,000 PTS (No score at Jumping Moai)
3rd version: 1st 20,000 PTS Every 150,000 PTS

By the way, the original AC GRADIUS II provide no continue. But someone remake the program (out of law) to setup the continue feature. And that kind of bord is very rare.

Oversea Version

There is an European version of AC GRADIUS II which is named VULCAN VENTURE. The major difference in this version is that it allows players to continue.

Note

This title showed the best in the whole Gradius series. I didn't played this version much, actually I only saw it a few times in game centres. By the time, I were very young and seldom/didn't go to game centres. Besides, I had no money and no time to play too.

If you have missed the AC version too. You can still have a chance to play this game now. Because KONAMI has released a title called Gradius Deluxe Pack for both the Saturn and Playstation system, which includes the original AC version of GRADIUS & GRADIUS II in one CD-ROM.
